This relatively new enterprise, located on 123 acres in West Chester, PA, builds on FarmerJawn's track record of increasing access to healthy food and promoting representation of Black ownership within the agriculture industry.

Reber Rock Farm

Essex, NY

Reber Rock Farm is a 120-acre family farm in Essex, New York, producing the only pastured, Certified Organic poultry and pork within 150 miles of its location, as well as 100% grass-fed beef and maple syrup. Since its launch in 2013, the farm has expanded significantly, now raising 8,500 broilers and 83 pigs annually on 400 acres. Reber Rock Farm remains deeply committed to regenerative agriculture, food justice, and community connection.

Agrarian Trust

Petersburg, VA

Foodshed Capital joined Agrarian Trust and the Central Virginia Agrarian Commons, Virginia Cooperative Extension, the Catawba Sustainability Center at Virginia Tech, the Petersburg Healthy Opportunities Project, the Petersburg League of Urban Growers, and Sankofa Community Orchard to pool resources to purchase a 5.12-acre urban farm just outside Richmond, Virginia. The Commons model provides farmers with critical land security through a 99-year lease while ensuring the land can never be bought or sold again and will remain protected for regeneratively managed food production.

Jones Gardens

Jones Gardens was launched in 2021 by Staunton, Virginia natives Naomi and Sarah Jones. The goal was to create an enriching community space which was simultaneously functional and beautiful. The Joneses personally identified with the struggle to put fresh food on the table, having grown up in a lower income household. Jones Gardens has transformed unused parcels of land into vibrant edible landscapes, improving fresh food availability in the community and providing a setting for people of all backgrounds to gather.

Siller Pollinator Company

Siller Pollinator Company was founded in 2019 with the intention of helping people help pollinators. Operating primarily as a honeybee hive management service for its first few years, SPC has grown to include a retail space and a quickly growing pollinator habitat development enterprise. They have forged exciting new partnerships with utility scale solar companies across Virginia, collaborating to directly transform solar sites into pollinator habitat or to facilitate partnerships between utilities and rotational sheep grazers.
