The Produce Tribe

Stanton, TN

Date Funded: October, 2025

The Produce Tribe is a family-owned farm in Stanton, Tennessee, run by Mathew Robinson on land held by his family for four generations. Specializing in seasonal vegetables and value-added products, the farm supplies farmers markets, wholesale buyers, and food hubs while using sustainable practices that enhance soil health and yield highly nutritious crops. Beyond food production, the farm emphasizes the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of the community and strengthens West Tennessee’s regional foodshed.

Alongside his work on the farm, Matthew serves as an advisor for Delta Harvest (formerly Foodwise Farms), a collaborative effort of farmers, producers, scientists, and other experts that is launching an agricultural renaissance in the Mid-Mississippi Delta. This is the first project to test concepts from World Wildlife’s Next California initiative, and it is centering Black and women-led operations to build a more nutritious, farmer-strong, consumer-centric, and climate-friendly food system. Foodshed Capital also serves as an advisor to Delta Harvest.

In 2025, The Produce Tribe received a USDA Business Builder grant to convert a wash-and-pack shed into a GAP-certified commercial kitchen for value-added products. A low-interest loan from Foodshed Capital covered upfront costs and additional supplies not included in the grant, allowing the farm to expand production and support its mission.
