Ashley joined Foodshed Capital in June 2022 as part of our communications team. As our needs evolved, Ashley transitioned to the role of Lending Associate. She works closely with our lending team to oversee our loan pipeline and manage repayment and loan administration, and also acts as a key point of contact for the rest of our team as we track and report impact.

Born in Gonaives, Haiti and raised in Georgia, Ashley has always been surrounded by farm life. She cultivated a passion for the environment from an early age, harvesting vegetables and feeding the rambunctious goats and curious chickens on her parents' farm. Ashley earned a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies with a concentration in Cultures and Communications from the University of Richmond in May 2021. Over the course of her academic career, she worked as a student researcher studying the effects of climate-related variation performance traits across the invasion front of gypsy moths. Alongside her studies, she worked as an Environmental Justice intern as well as a Culture Advisor, devising inclusion initiatives and creative opportunities for students to gather in the midst of the pandemic. Ashley now lives in Midlothian, VA where she enjoys reading and practicing yoga.
