Three Part Harmony Farm

Washington, DC

0% interest loan funded Dec. 2022

Gail Taylor founded Three Part Harmony Farm to grow food for her community and to challenge the stereotypical model of urban farms. Located on a 2-acre parcel in northeast Washington, DC, this small-scale agro-ecological farm produces vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers. As a part of a community that grows, sells, and eats healthy food, Three Part Harmony uses sustainable practices without chemical pesticides or herbicides to grow vegetables for their CSA.

With the help of her partner D'Real Graham, Gail hopes to create a model of economic and environmental sustainability while creating an equitable, racially just food system. Gail is a powerhouse of community organizing and an experienced farmer. In 2015 she was featured as one of Fifty+ under 50: Innovative leaders transforming metro DC's food system and a Black Dirt Farm Collective member. Foodshed Capital supported Three Part Harmony with a 0% interest loan to launch a small-scale poultry operation, which will expand their their CSA offerings and meet the needs of a larger market.
