SOULSHINE FARM

SOULSHINE FARM

SoulShine began in 2015 as a small-scale urban farm in Lynchburg, Virginia. After a few seasons shoestringing it in the city, owner Dustin Formon and his wife Rachel decided to go for it and relocated the farm to 150 acres of family land in Bedford, VA. Now the farm cultivates one acre for market garden veggies and two for perennial fruit and herbs. The farm is committed to improving soil health through regenerative practices like cover cropping, composting, and using natural pest prevention. Their low-interest loan funded in June of 2021 will help them build a processing shed and walk-in cooler on the farmland to increase efficiency and maintain high quality produce for distribution to local customers.
